At Visma Flyt, we develop solutions for those who work closest to people – teachers, nurses, child welfare workers, caseworkers, and leaders in the public sector. We are now looking for an AI developer who can combine optimization expertise with an interest in generative AI, and who wants to help develop solutions in our AI hub.

We want to streamline repetitive tasks to free up time for employees who work with people – and bring new technology quickly into the everyday lives of our users.

About the AI hub and the team

The AI hub is our cross-disciplinary team for developing AI solutions across Visma Flyt’s products. We work both on our own initiatives and as partners in product development. We take ownership of the entire journey from proof-of-concept to production-ready code, and we also share competence, tools, and experience.

You will work in a small, cross-disciplinary team where we build everything from route and resource planning to intelligent assistants, document search, and automated insights – with a short path from idea to production.

The team operates a bit like a startup internally in Visma Flyt. We have few bottlenecks, a high degree of autonomy, and work closely with product, business, and development. You will take part in shaping how we work and what we build.

What you will actually do

• Maintain and improve optimization solutions (e.g., CVRP solver)
  
  

• Contribute to the development of generative AI – e.g., bots, document analysis, search, and text generation
  
  

• Write and maintain production-quality codebases
  
  

• Create MVPs and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate value quickly
  
  

• Work closely with product teams, designers, and the business side
  
  

• Be an active contributor in the AI hub – our shared innovation team for all of Visma Flyt
  
  

Who we think you are

• You have minimum 2–3 years of documented experience as a developer in a company
  
  

• You learn quickly and are curious, structured, and solution-oriented
  
  

• You have experience with optimization problems (e.g., CVRP and heuristics)
  
  

• You have experience with or a strong interest in generative AI in products (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, agents)
  
  

• You enjoy writing code, experimenting, and building solutions in production environments
  
  

• You like to work cross-functionally and understand user needs

Extra plus:

• Experience with object-oriented programming (Java), Python, and OR-Tools
  
  

• Knowledge of cloud solutions (Azure), API development, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
  
  

• Interest in socially beneficial products in the public sector
